Coach Education in CWSP

Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership has re-vamped its coach education process to make it more about you the coach and to ensure we are providing what you want. The new process is as follows:

• Coach (you) inserts the training you need, venues you can travel to and days of the week available at www.coachingcw.org
• It is everyone’s responsibility to get as many people as possible onto www.coachingcw.org to get as many training needs as possible (The more we have the quicker courses get put on)
• When enough people request a course we offer (at the same venue and evening) we will put it on ASAP (min 4-6 weeks)
• Coaches come back to www.coachingcw.org to book and pay online to reserve their place on the course
• Course is opened up and marketed to all coaches through www.coachingcw.org

We hope this new process means we will put on the courses you need at the venues and times you decide, but we need as many of you as possible to tell us what you want. Please register ASAP on www.coachingcw.org to begin the process of making coach education in Cheshire based around our coaches.

How do I let you know about what training I need?

Firstly you will need to register an account at www.coachingcw.org. To do this please visit the site, click “Register as a coach” and complete a profile on yourself and your current coaching qualifications and activity.

Once this is done, on your coach’s homepage when you log in, there will be a purple button called “Training Needs”. This will take you to a page where you will be asked to input:

• What training courses you want (from a list of what we provide)
• Which of our 9 Quality assured venues you would travel to for that course
• Which evenings of the week you would be available to attend that course

This will submit a training need into a table you can view and edit. Once 16 people request a training need that is the same/similar to yours we will put the course on ASAP for you

How do I then book onto a training course?

You will receive an email when a training course is put on based on your request. You need to go back to www.coachingcw.org and log-into your account

One of the purple buttons on your home page is “book an event”, click on it. That will take you to a list of events that are currently available to book onto. If the event requires payment clicking that button will take you to our secure Pay Pal system for payment via card or Pay Pal account.

Once you have completed this you will receive a confirmation email and will have reserved a place on the course.

Is paying by Card or Pay pal the only way to pay for a course?

Yes, we no longer accept requests for invoices unless you are booking an entire course for 16 persons or more.

If an individual is having their attendance paid for we would suggest either an organisations card is used or the individual pays for the course and is then reimbursed via the automatic receipt that is sent to their email account

I am not a coach and want to book onto a Coach education course

If this is the case, please call 01606 871812 as there is no need for you to register an account. We will take information and book a place on the course for you over the phone.

If you wish to register a training need and you are not a coach, please email coaching@cwsportspartnership.org and we will add the training need for you.

I am a coach, but do not feel able to book a course/put in my required training online

Please call 01606 871812 and a member of staff will take information from you over the phone to complete a profile, training need and course booking dependent on your request. (Please be patient as this may take a few minutes)

What if I have to cancel a course once I have booked onto it?

By booking on a coach education course with Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership (CWSP) you agree that if you cancel your place, CWSP will refund 50% of the course cost. If you cancel your place on a course within 10 days of the course date, you agree to receive no refund and CWSP will keep 100% of your payment to cover costs incurred.

Why have you changed the process?

For a number of reasons:

• Over 50% of courses were cancelled last year, mainly due to a lack of coaches for the course, which was unacceptable for everyone concerned.
• We want to make our Coach Education process about what you want as a coach
• We see this new process as time saving for all involved (once the new process is understood by everyone) and simpler to use.
